Observ. Fri Eve: 2 Unids, Iridium flare

Observations Fri Evening Oct. 24  (25 Oct. 1997 UT)

02:31:00  UT   Unidentified Mag 2 satellite moving eastward through
               Ophiuchus. 02:31:30 through Scutum. 02:32:30, below
               Jupiter. No match for any object in current Molczan
               list. Yesterday's launch from Vandenberg???

02:45:13       Unidentified Mag 3 satellite moving NE, appulse with
               Delta Cygni. Went into shadow soon afterward. No
               match with anything in Molczan list.

02:51:42       First noticed flare from Iridium 17, about mag 2.
02:52:55       Maximum, almost as bright as Jupiter (-2.9 predicted
               by IRIDFLAR for 02:51:49, angle 0.61 deg.).
02:52:04       Faded, almost invisible.
