    yes jonathon , i made the following observertion may 19, 1996
    and posted it to seesat at the time. I believe other previous observations
    have been made, particularly on hubble repair missions that passed over USA
    at nightime.

    from Adelaide SA mag 7 at a range of 300Km. 
    Well into shadow at the time.
