With very mobile weather coming in off the Atlantic Oct 16/17 was one of those rare nights which was clear from dusk to dawn. Moreover the air was very clear so the large Moon near Jupiter didn't interfere too much. The docked STS 92/ISS was mag -2 steady on the first transit with the Sun 6 deg below the horizon. There were very few reference stars visible in the twilight, but it just happened to occult 46 Cap. I had planned to look at the next transit, but my old college was competing on "University Challenge" (BBC TV), so I missed seeing the lights on - see Mike Waterman's post. Morning obs not yet reduced include 93-26A (Alexis) and all four 76-38 objects (NOSS 1). David.
