    Hi all,

Last night I sent a member (Linda) a chart depicting a satellite pass that I
obtained from Heavens-Above. As I recall the pass was going to occur this
morning shortly after the official switch from daylight savings time to
standard time, that is for many places in the US. Linda then brought up a
good question that lead me to think of a hypothetical situation that I find
interesting. [I'm afraid that the answer to this may be obvious to everyone
but me. I just haven't taken a lot of time to think it through. :~) ]

Here goes. Let's say that in Chris Peat's H-A program, daylight savings time
switches over to standard time DURING a satellite's pass, like at local 2:00
AM. What then? Would the time listed be daylight savings time if the pass
started before the switch or standard time if the switch occurred after the
    beginning of the pass?

According to what we hear on the news, we were to "turn back our clocks one
hour this Sunday (today here in the US) at 2:00 A.M."--like I'm going to get
up to do that! :~) Now I have never thought about this before but since this
is local time, or so it seems, does that mean that for one hour my local
time is the same as one time zone west of me? If so, no wonder they make the
official switch in the wee hours of the morning! It is no wonder many of you
    use Universal Time!

Thanks for any mind relief anyone can give me.
