Hi David, From my experience imaging transits , 20 seconds plus is far too long for anything that apparent size. Have a look here http://www.satcom.freeserve.co.uk/isstrans.htm and you'll find a number of examples , none of which lasted more than about a second. Odds are it was well within the atmosphere.
