The two close encounters described by Rob Matson aren't likely to be
seen by anyone. The first, between Iridium 16 and ERS-2 R/B, will
occur in daylight just off the coast of southern Chile. The second, between
a Delta R/B and Tiros N, is more favorable as it occurs in twilight, but
it happens over the mid-Atlantic. Only observers in the Azores, the Canary
Islands, and extreme western Africa would be able to see it.
