"The booster launched from Alaska, as part of the USAF's atmospheric
interceptor technology
program, is scheduled to be conducted on September 11 on a 120 degree
azimuth from
Kodiak Island. The test vehicle will reach a maximum altitude of 1,060
nautical miles about
9 minutes after launch. The final ocean impact of the vehicle will be about
300 miles off
southern Oregon. The mission is intended to provide the precision
acquisition, phased
array radar facility at Beale AFB, CA, with more than 13 minutes of viewing
time of incoming
objects on a ballistic trajectory. During that time, the PAVE PAWS (phased
array warning
system) radar will be used to detect and track several target objects."

Now all we need is a launch time. Assuming this is a night launch, this
should
be visible from the Pacific Northwest. --Rob
