Hi Bob,

I re-read your message, and although you didn't give your
location, you did give a local date and time.  You also
indicated that you were looking for Meteor 1-2.  (I determined
that the Meteor 1-22 later in your message was a typo).

east of the Mississippi, and probably north of Virginia.
Thus, the 20:50 time you quoted was EST, and you observed
the satellites at 0:50 UT on 9/23/99.

Assuming you're in the Cleveland area (just a guess), then
Meteor 1-2 would have been rising to the left of Cassiopeia.
As it turns out, the new Globalstar sats would indeed have
been going from NW to NE across your northern sky, so that's
what you saw!  Congrats!  --Rob
