Geostationary satellite question

Hi everyone,

How does one determine the location of the arc -- how far north or south of
the celestial equator -- for viewing geostationary satellites from one's
latitude? Does it vary by season? I'm at 46.8° N. Also, where might I find
a guide to identifying what geostationary sats appear in my time exposures?

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Best regards,
Bob
