Some time ago I released my 'SkyTrack' software. It allows to calculate the ground track (including optional generation of a kml file), and sky track (in both RA/DEC and Az/ELEV) of a satellite from a TLE. Last week I discovered two bugs in it, that have now been corrected. They are rather critical, so those of you who have the software are encouraged to update to the new version 2.7 via http://software.langbroek.org * bug 1 fixed: observing site elevations were read wrongly for elevations well above 0 meter ASL (meters were treated as km) * bug 2 fixed: southern latitudes and western longitudes were read incorrectly (sign missing when writing new sites to database) In using the software I never encountered these myself, as my location is at 0 m ASL (so bug 1 never surfaced for me), and in the northern and eastern hemisphere (so bug 2 never surfaced for me either). If you encounter any more bugs, please let me know. Previous problems with the decimal separator being read wrongly with some Windows regionalization settings, should also be a thing of the past in the new version. - Marco ----- Dr Marco Langbroek - SatTrackCam Leiden, the Netherlands. e-mail: sattrackcam_at_langbroek.org Station (b)log: http://sattrackcam.blogspot.com Launchtower: http://launchtower.langbroek.org Software: http://software.langbroek.org Twitter: _at_Marco_Langbroek ----- _______________________________________________ Seesat-l mailing list http://mailman.satobs.org/mailman/listinfo/seesat-lReceived on Sat Sep 12 2020 - 09:15:26 UTC
