A spontaneous report from fellow ASSA Councillor Fraser Farrell
about an Iridium flare observed 1021UT April 4, from the
ASSA's southern site at Douglas Scrub, to the South of Adelaide SA
[ 35d 11m 26s S, 138d 35m 39s E)
>While we were there, at about 19:51 CST, we witnessed the brightest
>Iridium satellite flash I have seen. A spectacular trail, visible for
>almost a minute and with a peak brightness of -7 to -8 - briefly
>casting shadows on moonlit ground!
>Fortunately Philip Pudney was there with his camera; so if you missed it
>you will just have to wait for his pictures.
