I just wanted to say thanks to all who offered comments and advice
about a month ago when I asked why I was not spotting anything. I am
getting my prediction and observations done. At the moment no timing
or anything like that just check what there is to look for and then
step outside and find it in the sky.

The main problem I discovered was using a planetarium program and the
reversal of the sky east and west. I could not get my brain around
that. I now use Mike McCants Quicksat and then go and look at the
predicted alt az position and there is the satellite. Sadly to say
there has been more cloud than sky on most evenings that I have been
    free to observe.

I will start looking at doing timing and such things now. I have
downloaded ObsReduce and will play with that for the next couple of
weeks until I get that right.

Thanks again for the help of the list.
    Geoff
