While observing Jupiter last night Denis Boucher pointed out a satellite that had entered the field and was slowly drifting through below (North) of Jupiter. I picked it up and followed it for about 5 minutes. I noticed the magnitude change from a normal value of approximately 12.5 magnitude up to a high of approximately 8 magnitude with a regular period of 35 seconds. Time was April 23, 3:55 UT Location W112.782 N53.537 Using Denis Boucher's program EOO and Kevin's "Satellite.tle" I determined that we had seen Cosmos 1595 (GL Closest approach to Jupiter occurred at 3:54:46 UT with a separation of 13 arc minutes at a range of 20518 km.
