Beautiful high elevation pass of Lacrosse 5 tonight in clear conditions. It was roughly WNW > SE at 83 degs. Tracking through the viewfinder brightness slowly increased to about mag3.......then for a second or two there seemed to be a slight increase about mag 2 before it faded.I checked naked eye and it was invisible , but through the viewfinder just about there and slightly reddish. After what seemed an age , but was probably no more than 20 seconds or so , the bird started to re appear , perhaps mag 3.5 - 4 for a further 20 seconds , then faded again. A quick look at the video reveals a few useable frames with the shape consistent with my last capture.....however in one frame , just as the brightness increased...and prior to fade a more complex shape was revealed. Hopefully Phil , Mike and Marco will have also witnessed the pass and can give their obs.
