I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Max. He was a good friend, and I
particularly remember him on an occasion
when I visited Herstmonceux.
He was very sociable - inviting me to be a guest player for the R.G.O.
cricket team for one match; he also partnered me
in a game of darts doubles. He also took me (and my wife) on a driven
tour around Sussex including a visit to Pevensey
beach. He was very knowledgeable and authoritative on Space matters, so
I could always turn to him if I needed any
confirmation on details of Space missions.

Russell
