The HST/STS-103 combo just made a nice visible pass from my location in Buena Park, CA. (33*51'13.48" x -118*1'42.69") culminating in the south at 16:42 at predicted mag of 0.8. I would say it was pretty close to that. It passed pretty close to Mars and was just a bit dimmer. I had checked Heavens-Above.com just in time to know the pass was coming that I had just enough time to setup my 6" newt. I managed to hand track the pair at 85x but wasn't smooth enough to try to discern any detail. In any case, it's kind of exciting as I've not observed a shuttle before, having only gotten into this satellite observing thing in the past year.
