Tonight while trying to observe the galaxy 11 and nimiq 1 geo sats, I observed a ******* bright flash! The time of my observation was approx at 7:45:27 UTC ( Dec 5 ). It appeared to me to have a orange color to it, I thought maybe the milstar 6 geo sat was flashing. I went inside and did a check to id it, telstar 402 R was in the right area:) TELSTAR 402R 1 23670U 95049A 03337.38197861 -.00000163 00000-0 10000-3 0 1362 2 23670 0.1872 86.9047 0001491 159.9683 231.5264 1.00256690 30003 I had reported it failed. http://www.satobs.org/seesat/Sep-2003/0151.html So looks like it's producing bright flashes to me:) The flash ap[peareed to get bright and then get faint, as if the satellites was slowly rotating, just like TELSTAR 402R would be now, that it's has lost it's attitude lock. Never know what you see in the night sky:) Kevin ===== COSPAR Site #1775 Long 75.6910 W, Lat 44.6062 N, altitude 100 metres __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
