Last night Mike and Fred and I saw a "Wow!" satellite pass. It was Asiasat 1 Rk (90-030B, 20559, a Long March). It went over at an orbital height of about 250-60 km, magnitude zero (not varying much, as far as I could tell), at a very fast rate! In 60 seconds it went from alt-az 58 @ 211 to 26 @ 94 -- a bunch of sky. I think we first saw it before it reached the first predicted point. We were at the BCRC observing site. Later I watched Superbird A (89-041A, 20040) from outside of my apartment, from 3:41:15 to 3:48:10 -- good old reliable Superbird. To whom it may concern: Happy New Year!
