I have seen flashes over several nights from what seems to be a stationary satellite or satellites. I don't know if I saw the same satellite each night as I was not looking for satellites at first. I was watching from Toronto at 79.6 west and 43.4 degrees north. The flashes were very brief, about a 1/4 second and did not move as seen through binoculars. I estimated them to be between 2nd and 3rd magnitude.
Feb 11, 3:35 UT, near the star 49 Ori, 5:35 RA - 7 Dec. Flashed again from what seems to be the same altazimuth 7 minutes later.
Feb 13, 3:00 UT near Mu Ori, 5:30 RA - 7 Dec. Flashed again at 3:19
Feb 22, 2:35 UT, near gamma Mono, 6:10 RA - 7 Dec. Flashed approx. every 80 seconds at the same altazimuth. I saw 6 flashes and then went on to other observing. Jeff at Sat.EU says Galaxy 81 and Galaxy 3R were closest to this position.
Has anyone seen these flashes or know more about the 80 second period of the Feb 21/22 object?
