    Hi All,

I was just listening to the local L.A. channel 7 (ABC) news
at ~11:28pm, and they announced "breaking news" about a piece
of burned metal that was found in Joshua Tree, CA that "could
be a piece of Shuttle Columbia". I'm not surprised by the
desire of the average nobody to try to get in the news; what
shocked me was that the newscasters indicated that officials
would actually be traveling to Joshua Tree to inspect the
debris! I sincerely hope that the TV station was mistaken --
there is absolutely, positively NO WAY it could be Columbia
debris! Joshua Tree is nowhere near the reentry ground track.
Talk about a waste of human resources and money. You'd have
as much chance finding debris from Columbia in Alaska as in
    Joshua Tree. --Rob
