Morning Allen, Yes , agreed and even though Atlantis lands early afternoon on the 20th ( GMT ) the next ideal passes of 193 dont happen until 1130GMT on the 21st.....but I suspect the 1300 GMT pass ver Hawaii is the favoured one.....with ISS half a world away. This and the next two orbits will keep break up and debris away from any land masses for at least half each orbit ( although the latter half of each rev gets a little tricky ! (Lake Erie , Decatur and possibly Shiloh will no doubt be on station . I have seen ( reliable ) comments elsewhere that Lake Erie will take the money shot. ) John ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allen Thomson" <thomsona@flash.net> To: <http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/satcom_transits/LJMUtransit.html> Sent: Saturday, February 16, 2008 3:13 PM Subject: Re: Observing USA 193 - tips for beginners > >> Assuming the first kill attempt will take place around 1300 GMT on > the 21st > > Reading the various entrails that have appeared in the press, I'd > expect the intercept to occur on a descending pass west of Hawaii, but > close enough that the space surveillance site on Maui will have a > fairly high-elevation look at the event.
