Didn't Mir re-enter over the Pacific in broad daylight? I seem to recall amateur video of that event taken from some island. No special filters needed for something that bright. But even Venus at maximum brilliance (-4.4 mag) is hard to see in daylight with the naked eye even if you know where to look. Just curious: Does anyone do all sky *daylight* re-entry/junk/fireball visual observing? I haven't heard of anyone doing this. It seems that there ought to be an all sky camera ( or special filters) that could detect the signature of daytime fireballs even in a bright sky. Is there such a thing? Thanks in advance for any. info.
