As i checked the sky to see if it was dark enough for some sat observing i
noticed a bright object (approx mag 2 if not brighter) high up, about 70-75
degrees to the NW moving to the NNE, 020 degrees. It remained bright until
it passed just east of Alioth in Ursa Major and then rapidly faded away. I
checked my pass predictions but nothing was noted for 01:26:34 UTC 26 Jan.
Once i came back inside, i checked and found that Aureole 1 r #05730 to
match the time and track of the object. It just shows that even with pass
predictions, you never know what will be passing by unless you go out and look.
