Does anyone know what object it was/is? The solar panels of HST were replaced during the first servicing mission. One was folded and brought into the shuttle. The other was warped and couldn't be folded so it was cut loose and left in orbit. A couple of hours later, I became the first person on earth to see it in orbit, tumbling, and slowly flashing. It was leading, and a little below the shuttle. > I realized last night that seeing these objects up close has > inspired me to try a little harder to see them from far away, because I now > have some idea what they look like.
