Your message says predicted mag 0.5, ie a diff of about 4 in  mag.
If I am not mistaken, the design specs for Iridium allow a deviation from
local vertical up to 0.5°
The change in mag due to the flare angle used by Rob Matson in IridFlar
(16-bit Windows / DOS) is shown in attached graph (from a list of
predictions). Very small decrease until the solar reflection hits the Sun's
edge, then about 4 at 0.5° !

So this is barely acceptable (and not a prediction error), but it could be
interesting to follow up in case it continues for the same Iridium.
