Aren't we talking about equal intensity when we are talking magnitudes?
I'd say that a one second flash of equal energy to a 10-second flash
of magnitude +5 would have to be +2.5 , and certainly MORE visible.
And a one second flash of mag.+5, though LOWER energy , is just as
visible. I guess the question is in which duration range this
"constant" starts to decrease and approach the "equal energy" case.
(Not LESS visible, if equal energy?)
