Last night as i was searching with my 10x50s for Iridium 27 which was low to
the east, only 15 degrees up i spotted an unknown at approx 15 degrees on a
bearing of 100 degrees at 05:59:06 UTC. I was able to observe it for a few
seconds before it went behind the trees to see that it's was on a southbound
track. Running Alldat the only one that came close was 78091A (11042). At
that time it was approx 3,500km from my location and i'm wondering if it is
possible to see an object that far away that is only about 15 degrees above
the horizon? Or was it another much closer object?
