Cosatrak 1 (Computerised satellite Tracking System).
Camera mount now carries two systems that can be operated
together as two totally different sytems and computers used.
Generally the DSI Pro II camera will be used for high altitude
slow moving objects. Tests seem to indicate that its sensitivity
is comparable to the MINTRON ( possibly better) but as its not
possible (?) to time stamp to better than 1 second accuracy the
time resolution is not good enough for LEO objects.
Meade DSI Pro II Monochrome CCD camera without filters.
using integration times of 05 sec min to 30 seconds maximum
depending on brightness of sky in particular area.No image
processing done but dark field applied.
Used with 102mm aperture f/2.56 refractor ,field of view 84 x 63
arc minutes. Can get to magnitude 13 or so in less than 20 seconds
exposure.
Exposure time to nearest second inserted into image FITS header
from PC clock which is checked against GPS signal.
Images processed and automatically reduced using APEX.

NOTES:

(1) One of those rare good nights so had a long observing session.
Moon not a problem.
(2) Could not find a few DSP satellites so will locate those by using
the radio dish which enables position determination to within a
degree or so and good enough for subsequent optical acquisition.
The satellites are DSP F21 (last observed about 74 days ago) and
DSP F22 last observed 186 days ago ( may have been moved?)
(3) DSP F21r #26883 variable
DSCS3-3 #16117 long period of invisibility so have to be patient
only visible for about 5-10% of its cycle.
MAGNUM 1R2 #15545 long period of invisibility so needs patience.
(4) Still need to find following
#22916 which is a DSCS rocket- last observed 92 days ago.
MERCURY 2 #23855 last observed 186 days ago has moved and is
currently lost to the amateur community.
MAGNUM 2R #20357 last observed 93 days ago
FLEETSATCOM 8 #20253 last observed 89 days ago
DSP-F10R #13089 last observed 12 days ago
DSCS3-12R #26577 last observed 169 days ago
EKRAN 5 #11890 appears to be too faint for my 4 inch refractor -
have seen it with the 6 inch reflector - last seen 100 days ago
(6 inch mirror needs aluminizing so at the moment the 4 inch refractor
probably out-performs the 6 inch)
96044 last seen 186 days ago - too faint for my system
96143 too faint for my system
Most of these are to my west so poor phase angle for evening
observing.
