Linda

I think the use of binoculars is the best way to view satellites. I have two
pair. One is 7 x 42 which work pretty well. They are not heavy and I can
use them all night long or take them to a ball game or car race and they do
not get heavy and cause your arm to get tired. A lot of good ones out there.

Then I have a pair of 11 x 70 which weigh more than 3 1/2 pounds. Hard to
use with just your hand. I use them with my hands for short spurts. I also
use them with a tripod and a special mount on top of the tripod called a
parallelogram.

It depends on how much you want to spend. You can get either of the above
mentioned sizes for $150 or less. Of course you will have to get a tripod or
maybe you already have one from photography use.

Go to the web site bigbinoculars.com

of course you have to put the usual http and www in front of the
bigbinoculars. But these discussion lists do not like for you to put all of
that out at one time.

That site is a good one for you to check out various models and sizes. I see
you are down the road from me. I am in Cincinnati. If you are near Lexington
let me know. There is a nice store there for buying scopes and binoculars.
