March 19, 1995
NASDA GMS-5/H-II TF#3
TRACKING & CONTROL TEAM
NASDA completed the control to maneuver "HIMAWARI-5" (GMS-5) to its
operational attitude as planned. "HIMAWARI-5" is normal.
The orbit is as follows:
Apogee Altitude: 36427 km
Perigee Altitude: 34593 km
Orbital Inclination: 1.1 degree
Period: 23 h 42 m
Drift Rate: 3.3 degree/day(East)
"HIMAWARI-5" will be injected into the temporary geostationary
orbit (160 deg East longitude) around March 20 and some functions
of on-board equipment will be conformed on that orbit.
Around middle of June, "HIMAWARI-5" will bw transferred to the final
geostationary orbit (140 deg East longitude).
MISSION ORBIT DETERMINATION OF THE SPACE FLYER UNIT (SFU)

NASDA HQ, TOKYO
SFU was confirmed to have maneuvered to the mission orbit using
its Orbit Change Thruster (OCT) at 14:49 (JST=UTC+9h) on March 23,
1995 and is functioning normally.
The mission orbit determination is as follows:
Altitude: 486 km
^^ not attitude
Orbit Inclination: 28.46 deg
Period: 1 h 34 m
SFU will conduct planned experiments and observations using
on-board equipment during this mission.
