I just did the calculations on the pass by the Tampa FL area earlier and 
it looks like it is pointing straight down (and it probably was for 
yesterday's viewing). Boy, with that thing so long, it sure messes you 
mind up.

Also with this morning's viewing, the small kink at the bottom was 
pointing away from the velocity vector. I'm thinking the kink is from the =

initial break and the orientation is from drag.

With STS-76's launch scheduled for around the time when the satellite 
re-enters, that would be something if it re-enters right over the shuttle =

while the astronauts are waiting for launch.
