At the risk of drifting off subject for this mailing list, I saw the comet early Thursday (21st) morning at around 2:00 UT from the middle of Canterbury. Its appearance was exactly as John Broman described it; about magnitude +2. It was easily visible to non-dark-adapted eyes in a hazy sky with tons of light pollution - I could see it from a main road with LPS streetlamps everywhere. Must have been a brilliant object from a dark site. Wish i'd had some film in my camera too.... ....................................................................... : Jon Marchant : : : Unit For Space Sciences : Email: jmm@ukc.ac.uk : : & Astrophysics : Fax: +44-1227-762616 : : University of Kent : Tel: +44-1227-764000x3266 : : Canterbury CT2 7NR : : :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
