Last I read there were three reports in sci.astro.satellites.visual-observe (newsgroup), one from Santa Cruz, CA (in the older thread), one from Phoenix, and one from Buena Park (Orange County) southeast of Los Angeles in the newer thread. Also Dave Ransom e-mailed me that he saw it from Sedona, Arizona. He said it was spectacular. There were clouds where I live and I didn't get to a clear area in time to see it. EXPLETIVE DELETED!!! From what I read it seems that it didn't get as high above the horizon as the one I saw Dec. 5, 1998. Differences in inclination???? -- Jake Rees Burbank, California
