This is forwarded from Dome-L, a planetarium e-list.

PalmPilot owners: EMM Graphics has come out with a rather impressive new
program for the Palm/PalmPIlot/Pilot called PocketSat that predicts
satellite passes. The company's Website makes databases available of the
brightest 50 and 100 satellites, which you can download periodically (you
can also obtain a Windows program that will convert the standard TLE data).
You select which of these you wish to obtain info about, select a date
interval and a time interval, and the program calculates visible passes for
you. It also gives you a diagram of the pass. Desktop software may give you
a larger display, and will work faster (the Pilot was never really designed
for high-level math calculations), but this one you can carry with you. I
wish I had had this available when I went on a trip through Europe after IPS
1998 last year!

PocketSat is available for a $12.50 shareware fee from the PilotGear Web
site. More info about the program is available at www.emmgraphics.com/pilot.
I can field questions about any details.
