Just saw some Mir re-entry video -- apparently went right over Fiji. There were thin clouds but the fireballs were clearly visible until they went behind thicker clouds lower in the sky. One larger, brighter fireball was leading the others. A palm tree was clearly visible in the frame -- very much the opposite of Mir's homeland! Best wishes to all who worked on Mir through all the years for a great, historical mission! CNN just reported that 104 people served onboard Mir. I did not know it was that many.
