DASH and VEP-3 Obs, 10 March 2002

    Saw two of the objects from the recent Japanese launch (see elsets below)
    
    The first was DASH at about 5:10 UT (10 March 2002).  Magnitude about 11.5
    with flares to about 10 or better every 45 seconds or so.  Pattern was not
    seen clearly but seemed to be more complex that just a flare.  Std Mag ~5
    
    At about 5:30 UT, VEP-3 came by.  Invisible except when it flared to about
    magnitude 8.5.  period about 8.29 seconds.
    
    Range on both 31000 km.
