Russell Eberst has been searching for IGS-related objects near the IGS western plane. There have been two launches into that plane: 03009A and 09066A. On 2010 Mar 02 UTC, Russell observed what he believed to be 03009B / 27699. It seemed a close fit, so I posted elements approximate elements for epoch 10061.845: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/Mar-2010/0023.html Mike McCants produced similar elements. Russell has since attempted to observe the object in that orbit, twice, to no avail, so he is coming to the conclusion that it was not 03009B that he observed, and is now working on the premise that it may be 09066B. I have looked into that possibility, and it seems reasonable. The object was about 19 min late relative the search elements I posted shortly after the 09006A launch, and very close to the predicted track, after allowing for Earth's rotation. Here are revised search elements, with the rate of decay reduced to closely approximate Russell's observation of Mar 02: 1 70611U 09332.10017880 .00002797 00000-0 12800-3 0 09 2 70611 97.3006 40.0640 0067938 322.9021 36.7527 15.18455430 04 Ted Molczan _______________________________________________ Seesat-l mailing list http://mailman.satobs.org/mailman/listinfo/seesat-l
