Let me add that as opposed to flashing geosats, where 1-minute timing is sufficient for flash calculations, GP-B can move 1.5 degrees in three seconds, so less accuracy does degrade the determination. I am sad that I can't contribute to the flash observations of GP-B and the decay of USA 136 r (and Raduga 33). Our dreadful summer is approaching at a rate I never anticipate, though having lived through it 59 times. Yesterday I missed a pass culminating 11 deg. W because it was still too bright. Today at 21:54 Local, Sun was at -7 and the pass at 33 degrees west. I could only see alpha CMi, Castor/Pollux, Saturn, Venus and Capella in the area at 1-power, and only beta CMi additionally with 7*30 in the area where GP-B should have its max. brightness. -- COSPAR 5919, MALMA, 59.2576 N, 18.6172 E, 23 m -- -- COSPAR 5918, HAMMARBY, 59.2985 N, 18.1045 E, 44 m -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
