Hi All, Haven't contributed much lately, but wanted to let those interested know that I'm working the flare prediction issue with the GP-B Project Scientist. It is not yet clear whether glints will be predictable -- should know early this week. While the satellite main body axis maintains a very accurate orientation, the source of the glints is most likely the four solar panels, and my suspicion is that these may articulate with the seasons. If so, the problem will be similar to predicting solar array flares from Iridium satellites -- difficult, but doable. If it does prove possible, I may opt to simply add GP-B to IRIDFLAR and make an update available. (I need to make an update available in any case due to the recent swapping of identities for IR 11 and 20.) --Rob ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
