Hi all , Take a look at http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Earth , select Eutelsat W3A and you'll see that Eutelsat's latest addition to the fleet is at 8.6 degs east. However that is not the case.3A is in fact alongside W3 , in position at 7 degrees east. I'm not sure when the bird arrived at its final destination , but suspect it was in the last three or four days. (see http://mysite.freeserve.com/satcom_transits/w3moveanim.gif which showed it moving east on May 4th ) Clear skies this evening allowed me to take a peep at the two birds , and although not that apparent in the image , 3A was slightly brighter than the older spacecraft , and positioned a little to the east. http://mysite.freeserve.com/satcom_transits/1x20sec.jpg is a 20 second exposure showing the two birds in position at 22.07 gmt tonight.
