Dear "seesat" mailing list:
I saw 50 of the Starlink G2-9 batch fly over Ireland last night (May 15d 02:04UT) at a range of about 500km and was shocked to see them at around magnitude +2.0  (i.e. about as bright as Polaris)  after 4.3 days (103 hours) in orbit.
Any idea what magnitude they will fade to when at their operational height and passing overhead?
I've lost touch and don't know if SpaceX are still doing things to reduce their brightness?Hope so!
That said, it was an incredible light show to the naked eye with 50 'North Stars' equally space across what must have been 100 degrees of sky!
Didn't think they would be that bight or I would have video'd them like Kevin Fetter did!
