More on M42 satellite tracks

Greetings all!! Although I've lurked through the archives of this
list for quite some time, this is my first post to SeeSat-L and I
thought I'd start off by direction attention to a photo that was
posted in alt.binaries.pictures.astro of M-33 where an aircraft
passed through the field of view. The subject line reads
"ASTRO: Typical Astrophotographer's Luck" so searching will be
easier.

In the image, the wingtip lights make two very noticeable parallel
lines of a yellowish color. The wingtip strobes also flashed while
in frame making large white dots on the wingtip light streaks. Also,
towards the upper left of the image is a red dot which may be the
red beacon typically seen on aircraft. There even appears to be some
reflection of this red light, which was probably a strobe as well, on
the underside of the aircraft.

Anyway, comparing this image to the M42 images, it would seem to me
that the M42 streaks are almost vertainly not an aircraft, at least
not one flying with regulation lights.
