Kate, 26047 89- 1N only had a radar crossection of .25 sq m, while 26420 was even smaller ( .08 sq m) The Orbit information group at Goddard didnt issue the an decay prediction reports from US SPACECOM which might give an estimate of the decay position. Both objects are probably too small to have given a noticeable re-entry. What was seen was in all probability a bright meteor. I suggest you contact Rob McNaught ( rmn@aaocbn.aao.gov.au ) and find out if he had heard of other reports.
