Just for the record, my assumption that the Directorate of Space was a precursor of Space Command was wrong. I asked someone who is familiar with such arcana, and he said that the DoS was a component of the office of the USAF Deputy Chief of Staff for Development (also known as DCS/D and later DSC/R&D), who was the Air Staff officer in charge of advanced development in the Pentagon. Space Command came out of a fusion of other entities that had operational space responsibilities. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe from SeeSat-L by sending a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@lists.satellite.eu.org http://www2.satellite.eu.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
