Does anyone know if NASA schedules water dumps ahead of time (if even
only a matter of an hour or more)? I would think that the astronauts
don't just flip a coin (if you get my meaning) to decide when to do the
water dump, if at all. It shouldn't take too much more to annouce water
dumps as they are scheduled, considering that NASA announces all of the
other activities on board the Space Shuttle (meal times are in the
schedule, too, that is released to the public. Naturally, you can't
watch the meal-eating on NASA TV (even astronauts deserve some
privacy!).). Maybe if NASA knew about the visibility of water dumps?
