Despite a bright sky (sun just 6 degrees below the horizon), I managed to see the new Soyuz TM-33 (26955 = 01-048A) with 10x50 binoculars passing in the north, some 20 degrees below Polaris. Estimated magnitude (hard due to almost no stars being visible yet) about +3 (i.e. fainter than Polaris and gamma Aquilae but brighter than beta Aql). Clear and dark skies!
