The first generation NOSS object, 87043H, began a long-lasting flare to about
magnitude 5 not long after I observed my second point.

While waiting for Lacrosse 4 (00047A), I spotted with my unaided eye a slow
moving 4th magnitude unknown, which turned out to be Arkon 2 (aka Cosmos 2392)
    (02073A).

Assuming it has the same standard magnitude as Arkon 1 (3.9 at 1000 km, 90 deg
phase angle), then this was close to the expected magnitude for the
circumstances of my observation: range about 2200 km, and nearly fully
illuminated. Seeing this nice bright slow mover brought back fond memories of
    the Pageos balloon satellite.
