At bedtime a satellite photo showed a good clearance moving from the west. The sky gradually cleared, and I saw a strong white aurora in the north with the clouds dark grey in front of it.. The only satellite visible at that time was 97-68B just past apogee, so I decided to follow it telescopically until it got too low. Sadly the aurora soon faded, but the sky stayed clear until dawn. More observations to follow! The satellite was about 2 minutes early on this orbit due to Mike McCants:- USA 136 Cent r 2.8 v 1 25035U 97068B 03302.75604129 -.00001597 00000-0 -46606-3 0 09 2 25035 63.7236 59.3631 7485985 247.9411 23.0540 2.03133075 03 David.
