The decay of 2001-041B (#26609) Progress/Pirs RB
was observed on Sept 16, around 03:30 UTC along the
coast of Portugal over a distance of 360 km.Cited
from Ron Baalke's message:
'Most eyewitnesses saw the object traveled close
to Atlantic coast and saw the object broken up like
fireworks into 4 - 5 pieces.
One woman in the north of Portugal make a home video
of the meteor with a camcorder in which we can see at
least 14 - 15 pieces of the object.'
SPACECOM'S FINAL REPORT showed - as I had reported -
the decay on
Sept 16, 03:27 UTC +/-07 minutes (41.4°N,351.0°E)
on a northbound pass over the Atlantic near the
coast of Portugal.
My analysis delivered the reentry 4 minutes later and
more in the direction of SW Europe.
